Department of Science and Technology Prepares for 'Special Campaign 6.0' After Significant Success in 5.0
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is set to launch Special Campaign 6.0 on October 2, 2026, following the successful disposal of thousands of files and public grievances under Campaign 5.0.
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, has achieved significant success in the implementation of Special Campaign 5.0, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of cleanliness and enhancing efficiency in public administration. Working alongside its autonomous institutions, subordinate offices, and regional units, the department focused on the disposal of pending cases, effective record management, and grievance redressal during the extended period from November 2025 to August 2026.
The key achievements attained by the department during Special Campaign 5.0 include the disposal of 1,426 public grievances and 201 public grievance appeals. Additionally, 35 VIP references and 17 inter-ministerial consultations were resolved. A total of 7,099 files were disposed of, consisting of 5,455 physical files and 1,644 e-files.
To promote cleanliness, the department conducted 324 cleanliness drives. Systematic record management and the disposal of unusable materials resulted in the freeing up of 51,989 square feet of office space. Furthermore, revenue amounting to 1,920,173 rupees was generated through the scientific disposal of waste and obsolete materials.
Building on these successes, the Department of Science and Technology is now fully prepared for 'Special Campaign 6.0.' This campaign will be conducted from October 2, 2026, to October 31, 2026. The department aims to further promote cleanliness across all its organizations, reduce the number of pending cases, improve workplace efficiency, and strengthen accountable governance.
