‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ Program Held in Thane; Union Minister Chirag Paswan Interacts with Beneficiaries
The event was organized in Thane under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries' 'Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan-Sewa Diwas' initiative to encourage beneficiaries moving toward self-reliance through government schemes.
Under the 'Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan-Sewa Diwas' initiative of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' program was organized at the Niyojan Bhavan of the District Collector's office in Thane, Maharashtra. The event was attended by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Shri Chirag Paswan, Member of Parliament Shri Naresh Maske, Deputy Mayor of Thane Shri Krishna Patil, Joint Secretary of the Ministry Shri Preet Pal Singh, Thane Collector Shri Krishna Panchal, and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Thane Shri Ranjeet Yadav, along with several other senior officials.
During the program, Union Minister Chirag Paswan engaged in a direct dialogue with the beneficiaries of various government schemes, including PMFME (PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises), PMKSY (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana), and PLI (Production Linked Incentive). He listened to the experiences of the beneficiaries and learned how government assistance has impacted their businesses, livelihoods, and employment opportunities.
While discussing the potential of the food processing sector, it was noted that India now possesses a strong and diversified agricultural production base, which has created better opportunities for processing, preservation, and value addition. Currently, there is a need to build an integrated value chain that can connect farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), entrepreneurs, and markets.
The highlight of the program was the lighting of the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' (Lamp of Blessing), which was seen as a symbol of hope, confidence, and self-reliance in the lives of the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries shared how government initiatives have helped them strengthen their enterprises and become economically independent.
The Union Minister praised Maharashtra's contribution to the food processing sector, stating that the state has played a significant role in strengthening the participation of farmers, FPOs, women, and entrepreneurs. The objective of the program was to bring government opportunities to the common people and connect them with better livelihoods and entrepreneurship.
