Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan is a Symbol of Citizen-Centric Governance and Nation-Building: Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, stated that the 'spirit of service' is the fundamental essence of public welfare and development. He clarified that the primary objective of the government's initiatives is to improve the quality of life for citizens and ensure that the benefits of development reach the most marginalized individuals in society.

Addressing the 'Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan – Ashirwad Ka Diya' program virtually, Shri Gadkari said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's birthday serves as an opportunity to reiterate the collective resolve to serve the people and contribute to the country's growth. He emphasized that the true purpose of infrastructure development is to serve citizens and create better opportunities for them. According to him, roads and highways are not merely assets; they connect people to essential services such as schools, hospitals, markets, and workplaces. Improved connectivity saves time, facilitates the movement of agricultural products, promotes tourism, and opens new employment opportunities.

Mentioning initiatives like PM GatiShakti, Shri Gadkari explained that integrated infrastructure planning and modern highway development are transforming the country's connectivity. He cited the Zojila Tunnel and other ongoing projects in mountainous regions as examples of how remote communities are being linked to essential services. He also mentioned initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, which reflect the government's focus on ensuring the well-being of citizens.

The Union Minister stressed that development must be time-bound, result-oriented, transparent, and of high quality. He highlighted the need to adopt world-class technology, reduce dependence on imports, and ensure the efficient use of resources. Additionally, he emphasized establishing strict accountability for substandard work and irregularities.

Discussing efforts toward safe and sustainable mobility, he spoke about strengthening public transport through electric vehicles, alternative fuels, biofuels, and hydrogen-based technology. He stated that the real measure of development is the positive change in citizens' lives, such as time savings and easier access to services.

Shri Gadkari described the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative as a collective pledge to serve with complete dedication, honesty, and a citizen-first approach. Extending his birthday greetings to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he expressed confidence that under his leadership, India will move toward becoming a Vishwaguru and the dream of a prosperous and developed India will be realized.
